Etiquette Lessons for Children and Teenagers
Have fun while learning the social skills necessary to face everyday situations with Grace, Integrity & Confidence!
Lessons are filled with age appropriate games and activities, geared to
teaching life skills, basic manners, and proper behavior
Introduction Class: How the importance of having consideration & respect will benefit themselves and others. *Topic’s include: why etiquette matters, greetings, introductions, please, thank you, you’re welcome, understanding deference, integrity, empathy, tact, lack of affect
Time to Party - Time to Give Thanks Class: *Topic’s will include proper behavior, attending parties, hosting parties, invitations, RSVP, guidelines for gift giving and receiving, why thank you notes matter, how to write a thank you note , &t: understanding the difference between "Being Deserving Of" or "Being Entitled To" something
Table Manners: Having good basic table manners allows the confidence to participate in any dining situation with ease. * PART 1: (focus more on "rules") setting the table, table settings, table linens, using the napkin, using utensils,, American style - European (continental) style, formal - casual dining, different courses, easy tricks & tips to remember, the start, finish & leaving the table. PART 2: (focus more on the "meal") sitting politely at the table, joining the conversation, proper behavior at home, school, eating out, rules for chewing, passing food, bread, dealing with mishaps, how to eat different foods, being prepared to be part of the conversation, understanding that mealtime is not just about the food, but the company we are with - Option to include having a "3-course" meal together
Skillful Conversationalists: *Topic’s include, how to enter & exit conversations, expressing yourself, eye contact, good listening skills, proper behavior, telephone, cell phones, text messaging, social networking sites, not interrupting, taking turns talking, excuse me, using Kind words & tone
Making a Good Impression: *Topic’s include, proper attire, what to wear when, how we choose to dress makes a statement, body language, additional empowering life skills for teens: dating etiquette, College or Job Interview etiquette
Sportsmanship: Proper behavior whether being a participant or spectator, leadership skills, showing class on or off the field, leadership skills, teamwork, values, coaches, every time may not be all about me, shining graciously, losing like a winner, fair play, being the best I can be! different sports etiquette
Ready to Act As If: Suggested as the final class in our series of etiquette lessons. Lot's of topics were covered, lot's of etiquette "rules" were presented, a lot for kids to remember. This class brings it all back to the importance of people, whether at home, school or out in the world. That even if we "forget" a rule, or "mess-up" on an introduction, showing good intentions, from a place of respect, truthfulness and kindness is always showing good manners.
